The Edge Newsletter - Spring 2021

Spring 2021

Can you feel it? Spring is here! For me, this time of year provides an exciting energy of reawakening and transformation. The promise of spring feels especially precious this year. The little joys mean more: the ability to go for a walk in the sun, the chance to chat with neighbours over the fence, the anticipation of flowers starting to bloom, and of better days to come. Simple pleasures...things that may have once seemed small, now hold so much meaning.

There’s a vibrancy to spring. As the days get a little longer and the sun shines a bit brighter, it’s a great opportunity to harness the energy of the season into new projects...or to give a little nudge to those that have stalled. Just as gardeners are preparing to boost their flower beds with fresh soil, this is a great time to nourish yourself, and to feed your passions. Given the right conditions, it’s amazing the beautiful things that can bloom and grow!

My hope is this is a season of growth, renewal and opportunity for you.

Talking 'Assumptions' with Meg Daly

Last month, I had the absolute pleasure of joining my colleague and friend, Meg Daly on her podcast “Tranquility Talk”, as part of a series on the book “The Four Agreements” by Don Miguel Ruiz.

This is one of my favourite books, so it was a special treat to delve into Agreement #3: Don’t Make Assumptions.

We discussed the value of open communication, and the power that comes with having the courage to drop the ego, be humble and grateful. There are huge benefits in business and beyond.

What is Coaching?

Let me start with what coaching is not. If you've played, or watched sports, you are familiar with the sports coach telling people what to do, and how to do it.

A business coach is very different. They are a guide or a facilitator for discovery and reflection. A key fundamental is that a coach holds their client capable.

This is how I define a coaching relationship:

Coaching is a strategic partnership between coach and coachee, designed to empower the coachee to maximize their potential and achieve success. Coaching provides support, structure and objective feedback. The responsibility of the coach is to be a guide for their client - to listen, support and enable, and to be a cheerleader for their learning and success!

Within this context, I offer three unique coaching programs:

Authentic Leadership Coaching

A one-on-one approach designed to help you maximize potential and achieve success.

Career Transition Coaching

A 3-month program that supports you in creating your next career opportunity.

High Performance Team Facilitation

A program built around the goals of the team, and the strengths of each individual within it.

Team Workshops

I also offer eight workshops on a wide range of topics - from 'Leading in a Virtual World' to 'Influencing Others', and much more. These virtual team sessions can be customized to suit the client’s needs, and the context in which it will be delivered.

Whether you’re looking for a concise one hour session, or a full day of discussion and inspiration, together we can build a program to engage and support your team.

"Accept responsibility for your life. Know that it is you who will get you where you want to go, no one else."
